One of the most often-asked questions I have, is “How did you get the name Noo-can-do!?” Well this is my story…
After living & working in the UK for two and a half years, I returned to South Africa at the end of 2001 and settled in the gorgeous seaside town of Hermanus. I didn’t return to a job and had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. Having a creative and artistic flair, with a love for new and different ideas, my mom, Beulah and I began making greeting cards.
These we started to sell at our local Craft Market every Saturday. I knew from the outset it was important to ‘brand’ our product and I spent some time considering and praying about a name for our new small business.
God led me to Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me”. This was incredibly encouraging to me and became the foundation of our business. ‘Noo’ is a family nickname. hence ‘Noo-can-do’ all things through Him who strengthens me!
From the humble Craft Market beginnings, our business has grown in stature. As well as our regular stall at The Hermanus Country Market, we also supply our handmade greeting cards to many bookstores and gift shops around the Western Cape, such as Exclusive Books, Bargain Books, Bunches for Africa and many other independent gift shops too.
Since 2005 we have also supplied @home: an upmarket home store countrywide. We are always looking for ways to expand our market and enjoy designing unique ranges for new volume clients.
The step from greeting cards to include Wedding Stationery was a natural one and came about after high demand from family and friends who were getting married. Since 2004, we have had the privilege of sharing in capturing memories for many couples around the world.
We believe each and every couple is unique, so we approach each wedding on an individual basis and don’t work from a set range. This means that we are able to tailor-make the package to suit each couple’s style and budget.
In every aspect of our business, we seek to pay the greatest attention to detail, quality, excellence and service. We also desire to build strong and lasting relationships with each and every client.
